Anthropomorphic City

Overview

Amidst the Israeli bombings of Lebanon in 2024 and 2026, the filmmaker examines her relationship to the homeland, as she grapples with the responsibility of being a filmmaker forced away from the city. When embodying Beirut in the form of a woman, she understands that distance creates proximity, shown through their toxic love-hate relationship that tests the filmmaker's sense of belonging and citizenship.
